Market launch for etailer Anek
New womenswear website is set to become one-stop destination for independent and ethical brands from across the globe.

Womenswear fashion website Anek has opened its virtual doors with the launch of www.shopanek.com, offering a mixture of independent and ethical brands from around the world. Over 75 labels from more than 14 countries are available on the site, including the likes of 24 Hrs, A Battiste, Ankara House, Alma de Ace, Bare Bones, Celia Gould, Daydream Nation, Daughter of Jon, Hose Tights, LiliPearl,  Mary & Marie, Olio and Widow.

Aside from promoting designers from a diverse range of countries, the site also covers a wealth of product categories including accessories, lingerie, apparel, bags, footwear and Jewellery.

“I was starting to get frustrated by the lack of individuality coming out of big brands and mass-market retailers. I’ve also always been concerned about how the clothes I’m wearing have been made,” says Amrita Kriplani, CEO and co-founder at Anek. “I just knew that if I was searching for clothes that were both unique and sustainable, there must be other women out there who are looking for exactly that too.”

She continues:  “We have brands with some incredible stories to tell, such as Mayamiko, who work with craftsmen in Malawi, Alma de Ace, who infuse Balinese fabrics in urban street wear, and Mosevic who create sunglasses from up-cycled denim - to name but a few. All of our partner brands support great causes or have unique sourcing methods and to be able to give these brands a platform to showcase themselves really is as much an exciting opportunity for us, as it is for them. There are over one million independent fashion designers worldwide that need to reach a global market, and the UK has an incredibly mature fashion market, populated with informed shoppers, always on the look out for something new. It just made perfect sense to connect them both together under one virtual roof.”
