Joules supports entrepreneurs
Brand joins forces with the Prince’s Trust to aid entrepreneurship in young people.

By Laura Turner

12 September 2016

British lifestyle brand Joules has partnered with The Prince’s Trust to support the youth charity’s Enterprise Programme in Leicestershire.

Working with unemployed young people aged 18 to 30 in the Leicestershire area, the Enterprise programme helps turn concepts into a business reality. From training and mentoring support to funding and resources, The Prince's Trust works with participants every step of the way to decipher if their business ideas are viable and whether self-employment is right for them.

Partakers in the Enterprise programme are matched with an experienced business mentor for 12-24 months, who will hone their skills, advise them on strategy, finance and other considerations and ultimately support them in their journey.

Joules will be undertaking fundraising initiatives throughout the year to raise money for The Prince’s Trust. Additionally, all proceeds from Scotland and Wales’ carrier bag tax, which came into effect in 2014 and 2011 respectively, will be donated – to date this totals £3,051.35.

“Joules itself was an entrepreneurial business, created right here in Leicestershire – it’s an example of how a good idea, when nurtured, can grow into a successful international business,” says Joules CEO, Colin Porter. “We’re delighted to be working with The Prince’s Trust to help some of Leicestershire’s young entrepreneurs realise their talent and bring their ideas to life.”

John O’Reilly, director for The Prince’s Trust in Central England, says, “Our Enterprise programme has provided a lifeline to thousands of young people, helping them to get their lives on track and realise their potential as entrepreneurs. We are delighted to work alongside Joules to provide more young people with the tools they need to create a better future for themselves.”
